On a Winning Streak: the Cape Hatteras
Light Station Relocation Project
The Association of Conservation Engineers
has selected the Cape Hatteras Light Station
Relocation project for its Carl V. Anderson
Conservation Project Award of Honor for
2000, the third highest award presented
by the organization. (MACTEC also worked
on the project that won the organization's
highest award—the University of Louisville's
Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.)
Each candidate project was evaluated based
on its originality, technical value to the
Conservation Engineer’s profession,
complexity, and natural resources and environmental
considerations. The Cape Hatteras Light
Station Relocation project was nominated
based on its historical preservation and
restoration contribution to conservation
engineering. |
