SCOTT C. WELIVER NAMED TAMPA OFFICE MANAGER

TAMPA, FL, Oct. 22, 2007 – Scott C. Weliver has been named Tampa office manager at MACTEC Engineering and Consulting (MACTEC E&C). Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC E&C and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com), made the announcement.

Weliver spent the past two years with a Fort Lauderdale, FL mortgage banking company, directing mortgage operations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Naples/Fort Myers.

Weliver is a retired Lieutenant Colonel, US Army Corps of Engineers, and brings to MACTEC extensive expertise in managing diverse work forces in the US and overseas. During his distinguished military career, Weliver served in a number of senior-level management positions, some of which included...

• Inspector General, US Military Academy, West Point, NY – Served as the superintendent’s (college president) primary investigator and advisor on command climate issues
• Deputy Director, US Military Academy Bicentennial Task Force, West Point – Directed a $5 million, two-year series of events celebrating West Point’s Bicentennial
• Operations Officer, 30th Engineer Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC – Directed operations and training for 340 personnel in 25 engineering and topographical fields
• Chief of Engineer Operations, Joint Task Force Bravo, Honduras – Directed construction and environmental engineering operations during relief efforts in six Central American countries in the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch
• Operations Officer / Project Manager, Corps of Engineers Savannah District, Fort Bragg, NC – Supervised overall management of the largest ($250 million) military construction program at Fort Bragg

Weliver received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering (ABET accredited) from the United States Military Academy at West Point and a Masters in environmental engineering (ABET accredited) from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Society of Military Engineers and regularly works on Habitat for Humanity homes.
