MACTEC WINS $5 MILLION, FIVE-YEAR CONTRACT FROM NATIONAL PARK SERVICE

ALPHARETTA, GA, August 21, 2007 – MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C) has been awarded a $5 million, five-year indefinite delivery Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to provide environmental damage assessment and restoration services for the National Park Service (NPS). Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC E&C and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com), made the announcement.

As part of this BPA, MACTEC will perform services at federal project sites throughout the 48 contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and insular possessions and territories.

The National Park Service, part of the US Department of the Interior, was established in 1916. NPS manages, conserves and protects park resources, now comprising 390 areas covering more than 84 million acres in 49 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.

According to MACTEC vice president Randy Knott, who will be supervising the program, the firm will be working closely with NPS’s Environmental Response, Damage Assessment, and Restoration Branch of the Environmental Quality Division, which is responsible for ensuring that damage assessment and restoration activities are implemented.

Under the BPA, MACTEC will provide expertise to defend NPS damage claims by applying scientific, technical, and economic methodologies to respond to a variety of project scopes. Potential tasks could include emergency response (such as spill releases), quantifying injuries, determining resource values, calculating damages, and ensuring restoration.
