ROY E. MOORE APPOINTED SENIOR PRINCIPAL ENGINEER AT MACTEC
ATLANTA, GA, August 14, 2007 – Roy E. Moore, P.E., has been named senior principal engineer at MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C). Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC E&C and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com), made the announcement. Moore is based in the firm’s Atlanta office.
According to MACTEC vice president and Georgia/Alabama operations manager David Goershel, Moore is supervising a wide variety of regional projects, including a structural/geotechnical engineering services contract for the USDA Forest Service, Southeast Region.
“Roy brings to MACTEC more than 36 years of geotechnical and environmental consulting engineering experience with leading privately-held firms,” Goershel said. “He has co-founded his own engineering firm and served in senior level management positions at other companies. His project management and business development skills will be a valuable resource for us as we continue to expand our operations.”
Moore has also been involved in risk management within the technical arena and has written a risk management handbook and implemented programs to control various professional liabilities.
Moore is a registered Professional Engineer in California, Florida, Georgia, Nevada, and Oregon. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from San Jose State College and a Master of Science degree in civil engineering / soil mechanics from California State University at San Jose. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Moore has also served as a volunteer counselor with SCORE (affiliated with the US Small Business Administration), providing guidance and advice to small and start-up businesses supported by various chambers of commerce.
