RICHARD P. GARRISON HEADING UP MACTEC’S FACILITY LIFECYCLE GROUP
KENNESAW, GA, July 18, 2007 – Richard P. Garrison has been tapped to head up MACTEC’s Facility Lifecycle Group (FLG). Bruce C. Coles, president of MACTEC Engineering & Consulting (MACTEC E&C) and chairman & CEO of MACTEC, Inc., the holding company (www.mactec.com), made the announcement. Garrison is also a MACTEC senior vice president and serves as the company’s Building & Facilities business practice leader.
Garrison has more than 34 years of engineering experience and has been with MACTEC for 12 years. He is responsible for Building & Facilities services, some of which include planning, permitting, building commissioning, condition assessment, hazardous substance identification and remediation, and decommissioning and demolition.
FLG has developed a unique marketplace niche, offering clients objective-based condition assessments and use of the Vertex® methodology and software. Vertex is a proprietary software product that helps facility owners and managers document facility assets, evaluate current facility conditions, forecast asset deterioration, and develop budgets for building system life cycle costs.
“MACTEC is one of the few organizations that offers clients a true turnkey facilities solution,” said Garrison. “Our objective is to help clients at every stage in their facilities’ lifecycle, from planning/design, construction and start-up to ongoing operations through final property disposal and exit strategy. MACTEC’s successes this past year with the Defense Logistics Agency and other private sector clients are prime examples of this business model.”
During his tenure with MACTEC, Garrison has led the effort to help MACTEC employees become accredited in LEED sustainable design principles. He was also responsible for delivery of all services relating to industrial process engineering. Clients have included a number of Fortune 500 manufacturing and industrial firms.
Garrison also designed and completed a total quality management program at two major engineering and construction firms.
Garrison received a Master of Science degree in management and a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering technology (mechanical), both from Clemson University. He is also a graduate of the Philip Crosby Executive Quality College. Garrison is a member of the Association of Physical Plant Administrators, Indoor Air Quality Council, National Petrochemical & Refiners Association, and the US Green Building Council.
