Training and Development
A company is only as good as its people, and MACTEC’s goal is to have the best. We focus on recruiting and retaining exceptional people, but we don’t stop there: we are committed to the ongoing training and development of our staff. Ongoing development benefits not only our employees, but also our clients because it keeps us at the leading edge of changing technologies and regulatory issues. In order to ensure quality service to our clients, some of the internal programs are required for employees to advance into higher-level positions. Specific technical training is also provided to keep our associates up-to-date in the various service lines that MACTEC provides. In addition to internal training, employees may also attend external training programs to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Employees are asked to work closely with their supervisors to determine which courses will be of greatest benefit to both the employee and MACTEC.
Internal training, conducted by in-house subject experts with help from experts like the National Safety Council and OSHA, is concentrated in the following topics:
- Quality Assurance
- Health and Safety
- Project Management
- Management Skills
- Sales and Marketing
Other programs include…
- Professional Development Program – Encourages development of technical professionals by outlining advancement paths into key roles such as Principals and Project Managers; helps retain key employees and prepare future company leaders through enhanced training and development.
- Technician Development Program – Like the Professional Development Program, encourages development of engineering and science technicians into key roles such as Principal Technicians and Supervisors.
- Tuition Reimbursement Program – Offers tuition assistance to encourage ongoing education and to help our employees become experts in their fields. Many of our employees take advantage of this program and participate in college courses to learn new subjects or to complete undergraduate or graduate degrees. MACTEC will reimburse employees up to $3000 per year for successful completion of approved courses.
