Along with a Project Manager, each project is
assigned one or more Principal Professionals who
are responsible for directing, reviewing and approving
services that require engineering, architectural
or scientific evaluation, interpretation, recommendation
or professional judgment. To earn the title of
Principal Professional, MACTEC personnel must
meet stringent requirements, including…

Eight to ten years of
experience since receiving college degree,
and at least one year with MACTEC under the
guidance and mentoring of a Principal Professional. |

Successful completion
of the following training:
- Basic Project Management Seminar
- Project Management – Principles
and Practices Seminar
- Company Quality Assurance Training
Session.

Additional seminars
or training sessions, such as Environmental
Health & Safety, Contract Documents, etc.,
may be required. |

Demonstration of sufficient
project experience, technical capability and
management skills. |

Demonstration of ethical,
professional conduct. |

Participation in professional
or technical organizations at a local or higher
level. |
| |
Formal recommendation
by Office Manager and Chief Engineer/Scientist. |

Approval by Review Board,
which is appointed by the Director of Engineering
and Science. |
Under similar strict requirements, MACTEC also
designates Principal Technicians, who provide
technical expertise, guidance, training, peer
reviews of proposals and reports, and assistance
with safety and QA audits. Finally, the designation
of Senior Principal Professional is reserved only
for members of our staff with a senior level of
competence and experience in their specialty discipline.
They must have at least 15 years of experience
in their discipline, be recognized as an expert
within the professional community, and demonstrate
exceptional leadership and management skills and
a firm commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
