Refuse Incinerator

MACTEC performed a value engineering study for this 25 ton per day refuse incinerator plant. The project included the building, trash storage, site improvements and incineration equipment.  The construction cost for this project was $2.3 million plus an additive bid item of $811,000. The team generated 18 ideas and developed 10 for consideration by the design team. A total of construction cost savings of $675,000 was realized as the result of the VE effort.

MACTEC performed a value engineering study on this 60 acre project. The design capacity of the plant is rated at 400 ton of wood chips per day The construction cost for this project was estimated at $17.5 million The VE effort resulted in savings of $6 million or 34% of the construction cost.
