MACTEC's
1st-in-Nation Ambient Monitoring Privatization
Contract Marks 5th Renewal Year
Until 1999, to comply with the USEPA
requirement that states monitor concentrations
of air pollutants in various areas,
all states ran their own ambient monitoring
networks. That year, MACTEC was awarded
the nation’s first (and to date,
only) ambient monitoring network privatization
contract, by the Georgia Department
of Natural Resources Environmental Protection
Division (GAEPD). 2003 marked the fifth
consecutive year that MACTEC’s
contract has been renewed by the State.
The data MACTEC provides to GAEPD directly
contributes to ozone and PM2.5 forecasting,
GAEPD AIRS database, and the real-time
ambient data on the GAEPD website (see
www.air.dnr.state.ga.us/amp/). |

100%
Fugitive Emissions Captured Equals 100%
Compliance
To reduce VOC emissions and fine particulates
during U.S. Naval ship sandblasting
and repainting, MACTEC designed a Compliant
All-Positions Enclosure (CAPE®)
collection system that captures 100%
of all fugitive emissions. This resulted
in 100% regulatory and OSHA compliance
for the client. |
