QA Program for Labs
In order to comply with American Society for Testing and Materials standards, as
well as other recognized standards and regulations, MACTEC’s laboratories must
have a quality system and must meet various requirements that may include one or
more of the following:
- Technician training and certification programs
- Participation in proficiency sample testing programs
- Equipment calibration and maintenance programs
- Audit and inspection programs
- Corrective action and reporting programs
Our quality system encompasses both internal and external elements. Through our
internal Quality Assurance Audit Program, we regularly conduct inspections of
our laboratories. The program is fully documented in our Quality Assurance
Manual and is modeled after 10CFR50, Appendix B, and NQA-1, both of which are
used for nuclear power plants.
Our laboratories are also inspected by nationally recognized, external agencies
appropriate to the services provided. These external inspections, and all
related programs, are broadened to include accreditation of our laboratories by
nationally recognized agencies.
All MACTEC laboratories are staffed with trained, experienced, certified
technicians, and are supervised by registered engineers.
