Treestand Manufacturer’s Association Testing Services

To gain certification from the Treestand Manufacturer’s Association (TMA), manufacturers of treestands and related products must have their products tested by a TMA-approved firm. MACTEC is honored to be one of only two engineering testing firms in the nation approved by TMA to perform treestand, fall arrest system, and product testing. As the original firm approved by TMA, we have been providing testing and engineering consulting services for over eight years. Our services include the following:

• Physical testing of hang-on treestands, climbing treestands, ladder treestands, tripods, climbing sticks, and related treestand equipment according to all applicable TMA standards
  
• Testing of harnesses in accordance with TMS 06-02, “Standard Test Method for Treestand Fall Arrest Systems”
  
• Review of treestand and harness instructions and labeling in accordance with the applicable TMA standards
  
• Review of manufacturing Quality Assurance Plans in accordance with TMS 09, “Standard Practice for Treestand Manufacturer Quality Assurance Program”
  
• Professional documentation and reporting of our testing procedures and results

Our services involving the application of tests and recording of measurements and observations are consistently performed in accordance with current TMA and, when applicable, ASTM standards.
