Emergency Response

MACTEC's extensive nationwide network of multi-disciplinary engineers, scientists, and technicians can provide emergency response services for virtually any natural or manmade disaster. Our experience encompasses many of the most high-profile emergencies in recent years, from the devastating earthquake in Northridge, California to the September 11 terrorist attacks, to hurricanes Frances, Jeanne, and most recently, Katrina.

In situations like these, a quick response is critical in managing human health and environmental risks, as well as minimizing disruption to business or government operations. Teams of MACTEC professionals with specific expertise in facilities; building systems; structural, material, geotechnical, environmental, and chemical engineering; toxicology; industrial hygiene; geophysical assessment; and construction materials inspection and testing—including nondestructive inspection and testing of structural steel and concrete—can be rapidly mobilized and immediately productive.

In response to air quality emergencies such as sick building syndrome, our professionals have the expertise and resources to identify, remediate, and provide ongoing monitoring of virtually all types of indoor air pollutants including toxic mold, carbon monoxide, radon, asbestos, lead-based paint, and PCBs.

MACTEC has a history of proven performance in emergency and high-priority response situations, when every decision is critical and there is little leeway to accommodate a learning curve. To learn more about our emergency response and disaster recovery services (listed below), please contact us.
